On July 24 local time, the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts Library Expansion Project, funded by the Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, led by Sino-Congolese Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd., and designed and built by the Democratic Republic of the Congo branch of the Third Engineering Company of China Railway Seventh Group, was successfully completed and officially handed over. More than 100 representatives from the political, educational, and business circles of both China and the DRC attended the handover ceremony, including Zhao Bin, Chinese Ambassador to the DRC, and Marie Thérèse Sombo, Minister of Higher Education of the DRC.
The expansion project added a 175-square-meter reading room to the existing library of the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts. It adopted a single-story frame structure and covered the entire construction scope, including main structure works, interior and exterior decoration, and installation of the power and lighting systems.
